The cover file.
Download or take screenshots of your favourite book covers. Ideally, also retrieve the back cover, otherwise use the cover twice for the front and back of the mini-book.
Create a file with all these mini-format book covers. To do this, use layout software such as Canva, for example. Take into account the thickness of the foam board that will be used later to create the cover spine. You can play with the thickness of the foam board to create books with more or fewer pages.
Assembly.
In the video, I use gel glue, but I don’t recommend it as it is too runny and can cause the ink on the covers to smudge. Use stick glue or TAC glue sheets. Glue the first side of the foam board, stick the front of the cover, then glue the back foam edge and stick the edge. Finish with the back cover.
Presentation.
This is the most difficult step because you have to find the perfect glass for it ! I visited three recycling centres before finding the ideal glass.
Add a straw, a small parasol and/or a slice of lemon (preferably made of paper and cardboard as it is non-perishable) for decoration.
You have it! Your literary cocktail is ready.
