An architect by profession, Vincent Voisin cultivates a rich imagination in which 3D plays a key role. For a long time a fan of clay for his creations, one day he discovered foamboard by chance – a material that was to become his signature. It all started when he was helping a friend move house and came across the student work sheets of the friend’s daughters displayed on foam board. Immediately seduced by this light, flexible, easy-to-model material, Vincent grabbed hold of it… and never let go!
Vincent creates architectural models, dioramas, illuminated sculptures, toys, animals, boxes… all made from AIRPLAC PREMIER, which he cuts, trims, sculpts, glues… and even colours with felt-tip pens, graphite and even coffee!
Each of his creations plunges us into a miniature world that combines childhood memories, poetry and ingenuity. Many of the details are made from recycled materials: fishing line becomes a fountain jet, bridal tulle becomes a balcony railing, a bit of lichen becomes a tree or a bush, a crown of kings made from gold cardboard becomes a building moulding, cardboard straws are used as columns for an antique timepiece…
Vincent Voisin’s works are like mini-windows opening onto an inventive and captivating world! Look closely at each photo, you’ll always find new details!
