MATERIALS
Matisse-Inspired Bird Earrings
Draw a bird shape inspired by Henri Matisse’s paper cut-outs.
Transfer the bird design onto an Airplac White 5 mm offcut—twice, in mirror.
Cut out both birds, then coat them with Modeling Paste (PÉBÉO) while holding each one using a toothpick inserted into the wing hollow.
Let the paste dry, then paint the birds with ultramarine blue acrylic paint.
Glue an earring post to the back of each bird.
MATERIALS
Display Stand for These Earrings
Cut a square from a sheet of Airplac Black 5 mm.
Round off the top-right corner.
Cut two rectangles and cut out a 5 mm-wide slot in each one.
Round the two top corners of each rectangle. These will act as supports to hold the main board upright like an easel.
Stretch two horizontal ribbons across the board so the earrings can hang from them.
Glue a small round mirror to the top-left of the board.
